{Virtual Coffee}

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Hello there.
Good morning.
It's Tuesday again...are you ready for coffee?

I am having coffee a little early this morning because we have a busy day ahead of us.
Lots to do, lots to do.
So this morning I would pick up coffee from the little coffee shop/bakery close to my house.
And I would be using my cute little coffee sleeve I got there the other day.

So if we were really meeting for coffee today, I would tell you....
that today we are going to sign my baby girl up for preschool in the Fall.
eeeeeeeeeeeek.
I know, I know...she's four and a half, she's not a baby (I am), she's ready to go, I'm not.....
blah, blah, blah.
I'll be fine tomorrow, but check back with me in the Fall, it won't be pretty. I promise.

This week we are trying to get back into school and the swing of things and while
last week was such a laid-back week with no big plans this week promises to be a busy one.
Tonight Charlotte starts a new ballet class and it is an evening class.
ughhhhh.
My kids are 4 and 6 and this is the very first evening thing we have signed up for.
I am stingy with my weekends and evenings and am not quite ready to have them filled
with extra-curricular activities yet. I know all of that will come soon enough.
BUT, this is the only class that worked and it only goes until the beginning of May, so I
think I/we can handle it. She is really excited about the class so I hope she likes it.

Notice I don't have a whole lot to say about the weather...it's back to being a little chilly again
but I will say that the sun has been out and I will take that, most definitely.
It's a lot better than cold and dreary.

If we were really meeting for coffee today I would tell you that my boy lost tooth #3 yesterday.
He has two more loose right now, one of them being a top one which will be his first top one
and will really make him look different I think.
That should be any day now...man, my boy really is growing up. sigh.
*Note to self: make sure and have coins/bills put aside for future tooth fairy duties.

*****
Thanks so much for joining me for coffee today.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting and taking time out of your day
to stop by my little space here.
Hope everyone has a great day!

  2. Do you mind if I have a hot cocoa instead?:) Oh and on the subject of kids losing teeth: I feel wretched to admit this but I was in a near mourning state when my oldest daughter(7) started losing teeth. I wanted her to retain those beautifully perfect straight little baby teeth. Instead we've now already been referred to an orthodontist(UGH) and her mouth looks like a puzzle. I know, Im a horrible mom but Im just being honest!
Have a beautiful day in that chilly sunshine. We have the same thing here. Im certainly not complaining though-its better than another snow/ice storm!
    XO,

can't bear it- there's tiny teeth and big lumpy molers everywhere...{sorry that is a little grose!}....
secondly- enjoy the evenings...ballet is gorgeous any time..but we only have wednesday *activity free* and it turns me to a glass of wine or two on the other nights!!
thirdly- who let our kids get bigger anyhow?!
fouthly- {is that right?} you & i are NOT to keep talking weather -i think we jinx it for the rest of us!
number 5-{just got to tricky for me!} i know exactly how you feel about miss.c being booked in- it's all yuck! i feel more school age debates coming on..i say keep them home till they are 6 or homeschool the gorgeous things....
number 6- errr...where's your linky thingy??

  5. Ahh, your blog is like a breathe of fresh air after the day that I've had (and continue to have). The weather over here is also back to chilly, but like you said, the sun being out is an improvement.

As for me, I don't have any kids losing teeth (all still working on getting them in haha), but I can't imagine how weird it must feel to see time passing so quickly and have them be so much older.

    xx

  6. Like Tatiana, we're agonizing over the teeth coming in, and to think that after all the angst, pain and missed sleep all they do is fall out in a few years. Talk about a waste of time and resources!
Hope your little one enjoys dance! Thanks for coffee.

  7. I love your little cup cozy. (At least, I think that's what it is...) Very cute and makes me wish I had one. Hope the ballet class goes well! Love the last photo. The light is wonderful. Thanks so much for hosting coffee!

  9. I feel the same about evening activities. I'm an early morning person, and by late afternoon I am winding down, not looking forward to going out yet again. Usually once I'm out I'm OK about it and now that it's (almost) spring it's not so bad since there is a little more light and the driving isn't as treacherous. Enjoy!

  10. Happy Tuesday!
Wow, I feel so far behind and it's only 9:30, everyone is early this morning. :-)

I love your little cup cozie it's so adorable. Makes me smile cause the colors are so cheery compared to the gray, gloomy days.

We were lucky with preschool transition, because E has been in "school" since birth. However, I keep watching him as he gets older and I just can't believe he's gonna be four...our babies are growing up...Sigh...Tear...

Have a great (though busy) day.

  12. I hear you! I am very protective of our weekend and evening time, too. There is so much that can filter into those spaces and soak up time. I hope the class goes well, though. :)
Enjoy your no-coat weather. We're back in winter coats, hats, gloves and scarves. Thanks for coffee!

  13. I know the feeling about your baby. Mine is going to be in 2nd grade in the fall, I think I'll probably cry, but I do that at the beginning of every school year! The tooth fairy has been working OT at our house too. I think she's done for a while though. Enjoy your day. Thanks for coffee.

  14. I totally understand the babies growing up sobbing! My oldest boy just turned 9 and I almost had a breakdown over the fact that he will be in double digits next year LOL! It's so hard to see your babies grow up but at the same time lovely to see their development. Bittersweet. The weather here is still kinda ugh and yuck but we are getting there. I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!

  19. Thanks for the coffee! I'm totally stingy with my evenings and weekends too. Last summer we signed Sam up for t-ball. It was one hour a week for six weeks and it drove me CRAZY. Ha! I don't know what I'm going to do when they actually want to be in regular activities. It's a little better now with homeschooling; at least I don't feel like we're missing out on the family time when they want to do stuff. :)

  20. Oh preschool sign ups can be so hard! I just signed up my 3rd for the fall. It's so hard to believe! Great blog, I found you through blueberry's blog. Have a great week!

  24. I'm so jealous of your weather, at least you don't have snow on the ground! My yard is still covered with inches of snow.

You just reminded me that I need to start touring preschools in the area for my son. At three he will be ready to go 2-3 times a week. I can't believe it!
